Next Community Board meeting will be on April 14, at 7:45, held at 80-02 Kew Gardens Rd, Suite 202.
The 2011 Budget and Charter revision is coming up, and each community board will be faced with decisions about what to cut, including aspects of itself–which will drastically affect all of us. You probably won’t make it, which is precisely why you should send thisĀ letter that has been circulating around the neighborhood. I’ve done the typing for you, so all you need to do is sign and bring it with you to the board meeting tomorrow night OR mail it in to: CB6, 73-05 Yellowstone Boulevard, FoHi 11375.
Honorable Michael Bloomberg
Mayor–City of New YorkCity HallNew York, NY 10007Dear Mayor Bloomberg:I hope this letter finds you well.I have been a member of the Forest Hills/Rego Park Community for [FILL IN] years and have watched first hand the importance of Community Board 6. The Community Board deals with a variety of issues, including but not limited to: land use and zoning matters and quality of life concerns in the community. With the concept of budget cuts and charter revision in the near future, I strongly feel that the Community Boards are a major part of our local government processes and it would be devastating to our communities if their role is diminished. Please ensure that this doesn’t happen.Thank you for your attention to this matter.Sincerely,
You can send this same letter to–
Christine Quinn, Speaker–New York City Council, City Hall, New Y0rk, NY 10007
