Groove Is in the Heart of Queens

Queens-based El Jezel is performing its last club date of the year this Thursday at the Bowery Poetry Club (details below). Lead singer Jessica has been a Forest Hills fixture for years, gigging at P.S. 196 and the Forest Hills Presbyterian Day School, and then tutoring and babysitting hordes of young ones around the neighborhood. And if I didn’t have young ones, I’d so be there this Thursday night.
Thursday 11/29
Bowery Poetry Club
308 Bowery (between Houston & Bleecker; F train to Second Ave or 6 train to Bleecker)
$8, all ages
with…….
the Americana stylings of AM Preacher at 10:00 pm
The Frames-esque melodies of Two Seconds to Midnight at 10:30 pm
and, well, last but not least El Jezel at 11:15 pm
Entry filed under: Forest Hills, music, the arts.

Thank you for posting this, KarBeth It was a good show despite many of our regular fans not showing…we got more names on our mailing list than usual and sold a few cds and it was a fun show. In retrospect, I’d say it was a more successful show than usual.
Two Seconds To Midnight I recommend checking out…not only is their lead singer a good friend of ours who bartended and served at our rehearsal dinner the night before we were married, but he’s a truly talented performer.
