On the Map in a Good Way

weekend-600.jpgTomorrow’s NY Times Sunday Travel section has a profile called “One Borough, Many Flags.” It’s a nice plug for our increasingly fair borough, though Forest Hills isn’t mentioned. I think we’re not included because, unlike Jackson Heights, Flushing, Corona, and even Woodside, we don’t have any specific ethnic enclaves other than the Bukharian Jews, who have not created a bustling downtown area as you might see on Roosevelt Ave. or Main Street (I can’t imagine anyone making a special trip out here just to see 108th St.). Our neighborhood’s diversity actually puts us at a disadvantage in this instance! Points along the #7 line, as ever, remain a top draw.

There’s a fun video that goes with the article, online.
