2008_01_foodkopcheny.jpgGothamist had a post today, “At the Ethnic Market: Kopcheny jazik,” that is all about the tongue at Monya & Misha’s, the world-renowned Russian specialty market on 108 St. Russian-born ex-pats from all over the world come to Forest Hills just to raid this place.

Side note: Last August Gothamist posted a review of Korean food at the #1 Coffee Shop at Queens Blvd. and 67th Ave (a few doors away from Starbucks III). The owners told me this past weekend that they are not making Korean food anymore; too much time and work.

02_arzu_lg.jpgNext, New York, the magazine by, of, and for people who live/work in Manhattan and Brooklyn but summer in the Hamptons, has a cultural-tourist type review of Cafe Arzu, which is located at Queens Blvd. and 67th Rd. The kebabs are described as “possessing a kind of rural, rugged power that’s impossible to resist.” Wow! One bite and you’re practically sitting on the steppes shielding yourself against the winds.
