Dirty Pierre’s

Got an e-mail today from a friend in the neighborhood whose taste in food and all else I trust. It’s so descriptive that I have to share—

…was a wonderful little discovery last night.

While I have heard about it on and off for a few years, the front from outside, I found off putting and didn’t explore further. It is small and the window has one of those neon beer signs, which is a turnoff to me and makes it hard to see further, except for the bar immediately inside.

Do you remember the TV series Northern Exposure, where the doctor is forced to work in some remote town in Alaska to forgive his medical school loans? The show was very quirky, in the good way. That’s what DP’s reminded me of. Quirky interesting characters. Tiny, but charming dining room. Delicious food, big portions, reasonable prices. A++ service. I would definitely go back and feel comfortable there solo. I was sorry I had not discovered it previously.

Nice to know that the place lives on, in memory of its original owner, and in fine form, too.
