The Skinny on A&J’s Pizza

images1.jpegOne day it’s closing, the next day it’s here to stay—that is, if you’re following the rumors. The truth, however, is a little bit of both.

A&J’s is up for sale. The owner, Sal, wants to sell his pizza goldmine and the rest of the building. He’s ready to cash out, which is a much nicer fate than being forced out by high rents. And who can blame him, after 50 years of spinning dough?

But the news isn’t all that grim. To date, there is no buyer, just some interest. And even after Sal does sell (and let’s wish him luck with that), his son is going to continue A&J’s tradition in Forest Hills by reopening in another, nearby location. As for Sal, he promises Splitting Hairs that he will continue to serenade Forest Hills at the semi-annual street fairs. Now that’s amore!
