Chinese New Year

images-1.jpegIt’s really nice to see how mainstream Chinese New Year has become. At my son’s school this morning, I saw the kindergarten class walk through the hallway with a giant dragon they had made–gorgeous! At the Central Queens Y, the walls were decorated with pictures relating to year of the rat. And this Saturday in Flushing is a huge parade to celebrate. In fact, Flushing, with its enormous Chinese population, is the place to be this time of the year.

A terrific write-up on what’s happening in Flushing, including the ever-perplexing question of which restaurant to eat in, can be found here.
