5:30 “Boom”!

March 7, 2008 at 5:46 pm Leave a comment

108th Street and Yellowstone Boulevard are clogged up with police cars and firetrucks. There was a loud noise at around 5:30, which is what drew them over here. When asked what was going on, around 7 minutes later, they still didn’t know what it was or where it came from. I heard it come from the bottom of Yellowstone Park; can’t say much more other than it was louder than a tire blowout but it did not vibrate the ground–it was a single loud boom.

Avoid driving those streets for the next hour or so.

5:55 update: It was probably water (rain) hitting an underground transformer. All’s well, assure the police, and traffic is again moving.
