Bone Marrow Donor Screening

Submitted by a reader of Splitting Hairs and very important:

Lisa Gershowitz Flynn, wife and mother of two young children, is urgently seeking a donor match for a marrow transplant. She suffers from leukemia and needs someone like you to help save her. Lisa’s background is eastern-European Ashkenazi and she has a very good chance to match someone from the same background.

Sunday, March 16, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Forest Hills Jewish Center

Update I: A reader e-mailed Splitting Hairs that she recently saw a flier that said the family had found a matching donor. Let’s hope/pray this is the case. Will let you know if it’s not.

Update II: Although Lisa has found a donor, the event is still happening to help others who are need of a match. Thus the cause, while “nameless,” remains just as important.
