I’m a huge fan of Brian Lehrer, a native of Queens and a uniquely warm and bright guy. Would that I could find a babysitter, I’d get myself over to Queens College for this—

CROSSING THE BLVD: strangers, neighbors, aliens in a new america
Sunday, March 30, 2008, 3 PM
Goldstein Theatre, Queens College

Q & A after the performance moderated by Brian Lehrer, talk show host WNYC Radio and wnyc.org

Based on their acclaimed book of the same name, Crossing The BLVD is Warren Lehrer and Judith Sloan’s compelling and often humorous performance reflecting the chaotic co-existence of new immigrants and refugees who live in Queens. This bold look into the largely invisible lives, sounds and stories of these new Americans and their struggles is illuminated by strikingly direct photographic portraits of the subjects and an engaging soundtrack of music, sounds and voices. $12 all seats
