This e-mail has been circulating among FoHi .orgs to publicize the event.

Please join Melinda Katz as she welcomes Dominic Carter to her club. Dominic is a key reporter for New York 1 whose main responsibility is the political beat. He also has written a book and will discuss the details.

Where: 65-05 Yellowstone Blvd.
When: Thursday, March, 27
Time: 7:30 PM
Free admission. Bring friends. Refreshments will be served.

I assume it’s this book, below, which I pulled from the Web, an ad for another one of Dominic Carter’s appearances. Gotta ask: How hard would it have been for Melinda Katz’s office to cut-and-paste this too so that recipients would know more of what this is about? And why does she refer to the digs as her “club”? “Offices” is usually what we call them these days.

No Momma’s Boy: Dominic Carter Speaks About His New Book

This is the first book written by acclaimed political reporter Dominic Carter. It’s about a secret that needed to be open, so that Carter could free himself from the baggage, anger, and frustration he had bestowed upon himself and many others.

Dominic Carter, host of NY1’s Inside City Hall, received widespread recognition for his role as moderator of a series of televised state-wide debates in 2006, including critical debates for Governor, US Senate, and State Attorney General. In addition, Carter was one of the two reporters from New York to interview Nelson Mandela during his historic 1990 trip to America. Carter has appeared on the cover of the New York Times TV Guide, and, in a second profile, the Times called him “a force to be reckoned with.”
