This ties in nicely to a lesson on bridges my son’s social studies teacher has been giving at 101. While the focus was on John Roebling, the engingeer who designed the Brooklyn Bridge, we’re going to do a little extra curricular reading and take a look at the Queensboro Bridge as well as the other books in that series.

We just bought the one on Shea Stadium in time for opening day, this weekend, but it is not exclusively about baseball, mericfully. It also includes historical details about Flushing Meadows, the 7 line and Roosevelt Ave. with photos to match.
