Poetry Festival Anon

I have to plug the Jackson Heights Poetry Festival once more because it’s going to be a grand (poetry) slam of a day: May 17, plus first-ever events on May 15 and 16 (see below). Entry is free for everything, but Sammy’s Halal Cart will be there for whoever gets cravings for grilled chicken and rice, and there will be a Starbucks booth on the premises, perhaps with some freebies.

The winners of the poetry contest have been announced (they will read their poems on Sat., May 17), and you can read their amazing creations by clicking here.

Entry filed under: community, Forest Hills, Queens, the arts, timely topic.
